Headway Derby’s education programme has been carefully developed in partnership with clients, brain injury specialists, family members and AIM Awards over the last eight years. Today, the main education offer is called Rediscovering My Brain and is delivered three times a week, both in person and online through ZOOM

The course is delivered by specialist team of brain injury educators, volunteers and survivors; and has been intentionally developed and adapted with the changing needs of our learners in mind. The course has 7 modules that cover subjects including:

  • Confidence building
  • Overcoming challenges / problem solving
  • Ways to cope in difficult situations 
  • Diet and nutrition 
  • Budgeting
  • Engaging in your community

  • Receptive and expressive skills

Bitesize by Headway Derby

Bitesize by Headway Derby was introduced in response to clients requests for introductory courses to help them engage in a learning enviornment well, without too much pressure. BbWDY is delivered by Specialist Brain Injury Team of educators and survivors, with each course exploring one single topic, such as resilience, lifeskills or relationships. These courses run for between 7 and 10 weeks and are delivered in person and digitally.

Bitesize courses are free to people affected by brain injury.

Bitesize courses for professionals are delivered inhouse at your location, at our own Brain Injury Hub, or online depending on the needs of each professional cohort. Fees are available on request. Contact
